Typespry word-bank attribution and redistribution notices 1) Frequency-ranked English core Adapted from FrequencyWords by Hermit Dave: https://github.com/hermitdave/FrequencyWords FrequencyWords content license: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ Typespry uses the ranked English data as the high-frequency core of its English practice banks, then applies local filtering and selection logic. Modifications include normalization, de-duplication, removal of unsuitable/noisy tokens, and combination with the dictionary source below. 2) Expanded English dictionary reservoir Derived from United States English dictionary data generated from SCOWL / the English Speller Database family of word lists. The build used lowercase ASCII entries and excludes affix metadata, capitalized proper names, obvious dialogue/noise tokens, and explicit/profane terms. Current project information: https://github.com/en-wl/wordlist The local build source was the Debian hunspell-en-us package (1:2020.12.07-4), whose SCOWL notice includes the following permission: Copyright 2000-2011 by Kevin Atkinson Permission to use, copy, modify, distribute and sell these word lists, the associated scripts, the output created from the scripts, and its documentation for any purpose is hereby granted without fee, provided that the above copyright notice appears in all copies and that both that copyright notice and this permission notice appear in supporting documentation. Kevin Atkinson makes no representations about the suitability of this array for any purpose. It is provided "as is" without express or implied warranty. SCOWL is a collective work assembled from multiple permissive and public-domain sources. The package's full source notices remain available from the SCOWL/English Speller Database project and the corresponding Debian hunspell-en-us package. This Typespry file records the attribution for the subset redistributed here. 3) Programming vocabulary The Programming bank combines original Typespry terminology with identifiers and terminology derived from public programming-language/runtime metadata, including Python language/standard-library names and TypeScript standard-library declaration identifiers. It does not relicense the Typespry website application code or the separately licensed bundled fonts. 5) September 27 text upgrade Additional original Typespry vocabulary and 32 original complete passages. Existing source attributions above remain applicable. The adapted word-bank collection, including additions, is distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). No Monkeytype, keybr or Typing.com application source or passages were copied into this implementation. 6) September 2026 v3 upgrade content-extra.js adds original Typespry passages, technical vocabulary and generated programming identifiers. Existing frequency-core words are reused across practice banks. The adapted collection and additions retain the CC BY-SA 4.0 terms above. Research informed original application logic; competitor code and passages were not copied. 7) October 2026 v4 content expansion The v4 upgrade expands Typespry's original passage collection, code-practice material, programming identifiers, and vocabulary routing. Newly written passages and code templates are original Typespry material. A small lowercase gap-fill continues to derive from the already-attributed SCOWL/English Speller Database source above. Frequency-ranked material continues to use the already-attributed FrequencyWords source above. No competitor passages, lesson text, or proprietary generator code were copied.
