THE TYPESPRY FIELD NOTES

Privacy, in plain language.

Account data, Supabase and browser storage · Updated 3 October 2026

Typing and custom text

Typespry processes typing in your browser. You can practice without an account; guest progress stays in browser storage unless you choose to import it into an account. The full practice text and character-by-character attempt review are held in the current page rather than stored as a full-text field. Saved progress can contain missed words or code tokens from any practice mode, including custom text, plus statistics for individual keys and short character patterns. These records sync to Supabase when you are signed in. The application does not save a raw keystroke timeline. Avoid practicing with confidential text that you do not want included in saved progress.

Local storage

Typespry uses browser local storage for up to 100 recent session summaries in its main progress record, compact activity totals, lesson milestones, and aggregate attempt, error and timing statistics for keys and short character patterns. Summaries include dates, durations, practice settings, speed, accuracy, errors and missed words. Theme, sound and other practice preferences also stay on this device. Where supported, IndexedDB keeps local recovery copies. Account progress and pending sync information are cached locally for retry and recovery. Browser site-data controls remove local data and preferences; downloaded CSV files and JSON backups remain on your device until you delete them.

Optional accounts

We store your account-related data in Supabase, which provides Typespry’s authentication service and account database. This includes your email address, account ID, authentication and session records, and saved typing progress. We use these records to sign you in, restore progress across devices and keep account updates in sync. Progress includes recent session summaries, activity totals, lesson milestones, missed words, and aggregate key and typing-pattern statistics. Preferences are not synced. Guest progress remains separate unless you explicitly choose to import it.

Email-and-password sign-in uses no email confirmation step, so email ownership is not verified. Passwords are sent over HTTPS to Supabase Auth, which stores salted password hashes rather than readable passwords. Typespry does not save passwords in website files, progress records or its browser storage. Sign-in tokens are kept in this tab’s session storage. The supplied database access rules restrict ordinary users to their own progress; authorized project administrators can manage account and progress records. Supabase processes account data on our behalf as a service provider. Its Data Processing Addendum describes that role.

Hosting and fonts

The hosting provider and Supabase may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver, secure and troubleshoot their services. Fonts are bundled with Typespry and served by the same website host; the site does not request Google Fonts. If fonts cannot load, system fonts are used.

Ads and analytics

This edition does not include third-party advertising scripts, analytics trackers, payment processing, or marketing forms. If these services are added, this notice and any necessary consent controls must be updated to describe the implementation.

Your controls

Use “Data & backup” on the progress page to download a JSON backup or export recent sessions as CSV. “Clear saved progress” resets the current guest or account progress and local recovery copies. While signed in, the cleared progress is also sent to Supabase when a connection is available. This does not delete your login account. Clearing browser site data alone does not delete cloud records. Signing out returns you to separate guest progress; account caches remain on the device, so also clear site data on shared devices after checking that your progress has synced.

To request deletion of your account and its cloud progress, contact the Typespry operator through the channel where this site was shared with you. Account deletion is handled by the operator; there is no self-service delete-account button in this edition. Provider backups and technical logs may have separate retention periods. Copying a result or practice link writes a summary or test settings to your clipboard; when automatic copying is unavailable, the site displays selectable text. Downloadable result cards are generated in your browser and include score and practice settings, without your email address, account identifiers or full typed text. Practice links never include custom text. You choose whether and where to share a result or link.
